I have been interested in photography for the past 60 years but it is only since my retirement that I have really been able to spend a significant amount of time making the kind of images that I like. I don't specialise in any particular genre, however - rather, I love to create images of scenes and situations that catch my eye and that sometimes offer an unusual perspective on the every-day, whether this be in landscapes, nature or street photography."

Working with large-format cameras and complex lighting, he developed a lasting sensitivity to composition, material and light. After establishing a studio in Clerkenwell, he produced still-life advertising imagery for international brands, later expanding into architectural interiors, portraiture and film across Europe, the United States and Asia. His current work, under the banner of Botanographia, returns to still life through sustained botanical study, bringing together long-held technical discipline with quieter, seasonal observation.

Iris Maynard

Iris Maynard is a street and documentary photographer whose work focuses on urban solitude, abandoned spaces, and the emotional traces left within everyday environments. Through quiet observations of forgotten cars, industrial landscapes, empty streets, and fleeting human presence, her photography explores themes of memory, decay, displacement, and resilience.

Her visual language is rooted in atmospheric storytelling, often balancing cinematic darkness with documentary realism. Influenced by post-Soviet urban spaces and the unnoticed poetry of ordinary life, she approaches photography as a way of preserving suspended moments, places and objects caught between disappearance and survival.

Her works have been positively recognized in both Russian and international open calls for their strong sense of isolation, emotional tension, and reflection on overlooked urban narratives. Working primarily within street photography and documentary aesthetics, she continues to build long-term visual series centered around abandonment, silence, and the fragile relationship between people and the environments they leave behind.

Her approach is rooted in observation, natural light and an intuitive sense of the moment. Inspired by analogue and film photography, she creates cinematic images that explore human presence, movement and the subtle relationship between a person and their surroundings.
For Karina, photography is a way of preserving fleeting states and moments that feel lived rather than staged.

“Next Stop…”
The photograph invites the viewer to reflect and search for their own meaning: Where will I go next? Or perhaps I will stay here, sitting on this bench? Who was here before me, and who will come after? Meanwhile, the movement of trains and the endless sky seem to exist beyond boundaries and time. The work becomes an exploration and a remembrance of choice, while black and white allows us to feel more deeply the layers of our experiences and feelings.
