Solas / Shadow – Terms and Conditions for Exhibition Participation

These Terms and Conditions govern your participation in exhibitions hosted by Solas / Shadow (“the Gallery”). By submitting your work, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. Copyright and Ownership

• You confirm that you are the sole creator and copyright owner of all images you submit.

• Your submission does not infringe on copyrights, trademarks, privacy rights, or other intellectual property rights of any third party.

• Your submissions must be original work and not reproductions of others’ work

• The copyrights of submitted works remain with the photographer at all times; Solas / Shadow will not claim ownership of your work.

2. Rights and Usage

• Copyright of your work remains exclusively with you at all times.
  

By submitting your images, you grant Solas / Shadow a non-exclusive licence to display, promote, and feature your work:

• On the Solas / Shadow website for the exhibition and related online galleries

• On social media and promotional materials connected to the exhibition

• In newsletters, press announcements, and digital publications without further payment or permission.
  All displayed work will be credited to the photographer

3. Selection, Curation, and Exhibition

• Submission of work does not guarantee inclusion in any exhibition. Our curatorial team may select all, some, or none of the submitted works at their sole discretion, and decisions are final.

• Solas / Shadow reserves the right to reject images that do not meet technical or quality standards.

• Exhibited works will appear in the online gallery and may be included in curated digital exhibition content.

• Solas / Shadow may resize or format your images for consistent online presentation.

• The Gallery does not claim ownership of your high‑resolution files and will only use them as necessary for online display and promotion.

4. Prohibited Content

You agree not to submit or use our services for content that is:

• Illegal, defamatory, obscene, or discriminatory

• Infringing on copyrights or intellectual property

• Intended to harass, abuse, or harm others

• Containing malware or harmful code
  We reserve the right to reject or remove any content that violates these rules and the Gallery may remove content post-publication if it’s later found to violate these rules.

5. Commercial Use

• Solas / Shadow will not sell or commercially exploit your work without your explicit permission.

6. Accuracy and Liability

• The Gallery is not responsible for any technical inaccuracies, colour representation, or display issues that may occur online.

• The Gallery does not accept liability for loss, damage, or misuse of submitted digital files

7. Promotion and Publicity

• All accepted work may be used by Solas / Shadow to promote the exhibition, the gallery, and future activities. Your work may be featured on digital platforms and in communications related to our programming.

• Solas / Shadow will always credit the artist when possible

8. Changes to Terms

• The Gallery may update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Your continued participation or submission indicates acceptance of any updated terms.

9. Governing Law

• These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom. Any disputes arising out of these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the United Kingdom.
